The problem
"I think it's helping…"
But how do you actually know?
This is something I see all the time in practice. Someone starts a supplement. A few weeks go by. And when I ask how they're doing: "I think I'm a little better?"
It's surprisingly difficult to remember exactly how you felt a month ago. That's why this Challenge is different.
We're going to establish where you are today and pay attention to a few simple things over the next 30 days.
"We're going to establish where you are today and pay attention to a few simple things over the next 30 days."
Four things. That's it. We're looking for patterns and progress, not perfection.
What you're tracking
Four Things. That's It.
Hot Flash Frequency
Are they happening more or less often?
Intensity
When they happen, are they easier to manage?
Night Sweats
Are you waking hot or sweaty more or less often?
Sleep
Are your nights starting to feel different?
We're looking for patterns and progress, not perfection.
How it works
How the 30-Day Challenge Works
Take a minute to record what's happening before you begin.
Start paying attention to any changes you're noticing.
Compare how you're doing with where you started.
How do you feel compared with Day 1? That's your answer.
Thirty days isn't a promise or a finish line.
It's your first assessment point.
What you'll use
Meet Estrovera.
Estrovera is a non-hormonal menopause product from Metagenics containing a standardized rhapontic rhubarb extract called ERr 731. It's used to help relieve hot flashes associated with menopause.
Why is this the product I've chosen for the Challenge? Because I'm interested in the research behind the specific ingredient. There are plenty of products with "menopause" written on the bottle. They don't all have the same ingredients, standardization or research behind them.
ERr 731 has been evaluated in clinical studies involving women experiencing menopausal symptoms.
Clinical Trial #1
In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involving 109 perimenopausal women, researchers reported significantly greater improvement in menopausal symptom scores with ERr 731 compared with placebo over 12 weeks, including improvements in hot-flash measures.
View the Published Study →Yes. Another randomized, placebo-controlled trial involving 112 women also reported significant improvement in menopausal symptom scores with ERr 731 compared with placebo.
View the Published Study →A 2024 systematic review and meta-analysis examined four ERr 731 studies involving 390 participants and found improvement in menopausal symptom scores. The authors also identified limitations in the existing evidence and noted that additional research is needed.

It May Be Worth Exploring If:
- Hot flashes or night sweats are interfering with your day or sleep
- You're interested in exploring a non-hormonal option
- You want a structured way to pay attention to your symptoms
- You're tired of taking things without knowing whether they're actually helping
This isn't about saying hormones are good or bad. Menopausal hormone therapy can be a very effective treatment for appropriate women. The 30-Day Challenge is simply one option for women interested in exploring non-hormonal support.
But what if my situation is more complicated?

What happens next
What Happens After 30 Days?
Day 30 gives us information. You may find yourself in one of three places.
"I'm noticing a meaningful improvement."
Great. You can decide whether continuing makes sense for you.
"Something has changed, but I'm not where I want to be."
That's useful information too. It may be worth giving things more time or looking at the bigger picture.
"I haven't noticed much change."
Then don't blindly keep doing the same thing. It may be time to reassess and consider other options.
There is no "failed" Challenge.
The goal was to learn something useful about your response.
Sometimes there's more
What If It's More Than Hot Flashes?
Sometimes hot flashes are only one piece of what's changing. You may also be experiencing:
If that's you, it may make more sense to look at the bigger perimenopause picture rather than focusing on one symptom.
Common questions
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Estrovera is a non-hormonal product containing the standardized rhapontic rhubarb extract ERr 731.
There is no way to predict an individual's response or guarantee a particular result within 30 days. The Challenge uses 30 days as a practical first assessment point so you can compare how you're feeling with where you started.
Individual responses vary. Clinical research on ERr 731 has reported improvements in menopausal symptoms over the study periods, with some hot-flash improvements reported within the first several weeks. The clinical studies generally evaluated participants for longer than our initial 30-day assessment.
Follow the directions on the Estrovera product label and any individualized recommendations provided by your healthcare practitioner.
Your individual medications and medical history matter. If you're taking prescription medications, using hormone therapy, have an existing medical condition, or are uncertain whether Estrovera is appropriate for you, speak with your physician, pharmacist or other qualified healthcare professional before adding a new supplement.
